Room to settle in
Private rooms and shared kitchens, living spaces, counseling rooms, and outdoor space make everyday life feel like life again.
Health. Safety. Welfare. A fresh start.
Salus is a proposed secular residential community where people can find room to heal, rebuild confidence, and make a life that lasts beyond a hard season.
People need time and a safe place to put the pieces back together. Salus is designed for the long, human work of starting over.
Private rooms and shared kitchens, living spaces, counseling rooms, and outdoor space make everyday life feel like life again.
Participation is voluntary and secular. Residents choose to come and stay, without religious requirements or pressure.
Clear community agreements keep everyone safe. If someone struggles or relapses, the path forward includes support, not a closed door.
Homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and isolation rarely resolve overnight. Salus offers a stable year in a shared household, with the practical and professional support to move toward independence.
Residents receive help with housing, counseling, employment, healthcare, benefits, and reconnecting with the people and routines that matter to them.
Residents move through the program as they are ready. Graduations happen throughout the year, making space for new beginnings.
Get settled, establish healthy routines, access medical care and benefits, begin counseling, and take the first steps toward work.
Build work skills, practice budgeting, strengthen relationships, understand triggers, and develop routines that support wellbeing.
Find permanent housing, secure ongoing income, grow a support network, and create a plan for life after Salus.
Salus is envisioned for roughly 12–15 residents at a time, each with a private room in a shared home. A small, supportive environment makes room for both personal space and everyday connection.
Help make it possible ↗Salus is a proposal for St. Louis, and the work ahead is real: establish a nonprofit, secure a home, build a skilled team, and open the doors. There is a place for people who believe in a more patient path forward.
